Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 large Onion
  • 2-3 small Carrots
  • 2 440g tins Chopped Tomatoes to prevent negative energy & inspire creativity
  • 2 sprigs fresh Rosemary for protection & cleansing
  • 1 Bay Leaves to help make wishes come true
  • 1 heaped tbsp Tomato Puree
  • 1 tsp Sugar to keep sweet
  • Splash Worchesterhire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dried Parsley for prosperity
  • 1/2 tsp dried Oregano for happiness & health
  • 1/2 tsp dried Basil for peace
  • Pinch Salt for protection
  • Pinch Black Pepper for strength

Instructions

  • Dice your onions, grate the carrots and finely chop the garlic.
  • Add olive oil to a large saucepan, stock pot or cauldron and place over a medium heat to warm.
  • Add your onions and cook gently for around 10-15 minutes until translucent.
  • Next add the grated carrot, stir through the onions and cook for around 5 minutes.
  • Add the garlic, mix through and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Tip in the 2 tins of tomatoes. Fill one of the empty tins with water and add that to your sauce.
  • Add the rosemary, bay leaves, tomato puree, sugar, salt and pepper, worchestershiresauce, and the dried herbs. (Magical Tip: as you add the ingredients, say why you are adding them, according to their magical properties.) Stir everything together, turn up the heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Once your sauce is boiling, reduce to a simmer and leave it to reduce for around 20-30 minutes.
  • If you like a chunky sauce, you can simply remove the rosemary sprigs and bay leaves and serve as required. For a smoother sauce you can blend it up.

Notes

This recipe makes around 1.2 litres of tomato sauce, which you can store in the fridge for up to 3 days, or portion it up and put it in your freezer, where it should keep for 4 to 6 months.
