Hi, how are you? Grab a cuppa and let’s have a chat about October.
Now, I love all of the seasons. I love that we get to experience all of the weather and that every season brings its own changes. But there is something about the last three months of the year that feels particularly magical. Obviously, we have Samhain or Hallowe’en that brings out the Witch in everyone, and then we have Christmas and Yule and all of the magic that comes along with that. But it’s more than that. As the evenings get colder and darker we start to stay closer to home, we make stews and soups and we light fires and candles. Life slows down and these mini moments – the pot bubbling on the stove, the glass of wine enjoyed by candlelight – begin to feel like small spells.
It has been 4 months since I did Magical May and, while making my tomato & lentil soup the other day, I realised I haven’t been quite as intentional lately. Honestly, September seems to have passed in the blink of an eye. I have still been recording my glimmers, but they’ve been the big things – nights out or planned events – rather than the little things I started with. The way the light catches, the shape of a leaf, Ted lying in a funny way.
Ready for a Magical October?
So, it’s time for Magical October! Another month of magic and mindfulness, with a little nod to the season. There are no emails this time, you don’t need to sign up for anything, just follow along on your favourite social media site. I’ll be posting on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and TikTok – I hope that covers everyone. And I’ll upload to YouTube too, I’m just starting this channel, but if you do use it, I’d love if you would subscribe to the channel.
Here is the Magical October Calendar, and the Bingo Card, plus a Printer-Friendly Bingo Card if you want to save some ink. How will it work? Every day in October I will post the prompt for the day, plus a suggestion or two and a journal prompt for you to go a little deeper if you choose. Let me know if you are taking part, whether it’s one day or all 31 and tag me in any posts. The aim is to just take a little time out of the day to do something mindful or magical and to celebrate the Witchy season.

What I have been up to lately
This is usually where I put what I’ve been reading, watching, making and creating lately. And to be honest, I’ve done very little. I haven’t finished any of my books. I did finish my jigsaw, and have started another one. But my creative endeavours have been a bit minimal.
I have written myself an Autumn bucket list which includes going out for a Pumpkin Spiced Latte (because I don’t think I’ve had one before), completing a knitting project, making something with clay, creating a witchy outfit and baking a fancy apple pie – all of which to try and inspire some creativity. I’m looking forward to getting started. I guess it’s a slight variation of my Joyful June endeavours. I do love a themed month!
That’s all from me this week. We’ve all been hit by a cold the last couple of weeks, which I am just getting over, and I want to make sure I’ve got everything ready for Magical October tomorrow.
Until next time,
Rhi x
